629 Harrison Avenue

More than a journal. A place for your story to begin.

Every story begins somewhere. Sometimes it begins in a neighborhood, behind a familiar door, or within the experiences that shape our earliest understanding of family, identity, and belonging.

Inspired by 629: A First-Generation Tale in America, this journal features the red door of 629 Harrison Avenue in Boston's South End—a meaningful connection to the place and community at the heart of the memoir.

The front cover invites you to reflect on your own beginnings, document the experiences that have shaped you, and recognize the value of your personal journey.

The Meaning Behind the Covers

629 Harrison Avenue Red Door — Front Cover: A visual reminder of home, memory, resilience, and the places that help shape our stories. The red door represents both a physical beginning and an invitation to explore the experiences, relationships, and possibilities that contribute to who we become.

Taíno Symbols — Back Cover: The Taíno are Indigenous peoples of the Caribbean whose history and cultural legacy are deeply connected to Puerto Rico. Taíno heritage remains an important part of Puerto Rican identity, reflected in cultural traditions, artistic expression, language, and ancestral memory. The Taíno-inspired imagery on this journal honors those enduring cultural connections and invites reflection on the histories we carry forward.

Whether used for personal reflection, daily writing, creative exploration, or recording meaningful memories, this journal provides a space to honor your beginnings while continuing to write your own story.

Your story matters. Give it a place to unfold.
